I am utterly confused by this post

what voice in your head

what volume

WHAT

NO OH MY GOD THIS IS BOTHERING ME NOW THOUGH.
The voice that narrates your life, like, your inner monologue voice.

wait no what

like…

?????
how do you just READ THINGS without a voice in your head????

@_@ this is so shocking to me

Pi I want to crawl inside your head and see how you think why doesn’t this technology exist already

it’s like

okay so like if you’re driving, and you see a red light, I am assuming the thought process isn’t a verbalized ‘the light is red so I should step on the brake’ but rather you just stop your car?

Reading is like that, there’s not verbal intercession, I just go from text -> concept/object/action I guess

unless I’m read dialogue or something, then I tend to think in a character voice

or when I’m writing/talking in a conversation, I tend to run through the complete dialogue in my head before I write it down

that’s so strange to me I always hear my head voice talking when I’m reading and or writing @_@

the only time that stuff goes straight to the concept is if I hear someone ELSE say it. sometimes when my parents are talking to me and I’m not paying attention I wouldn’t be able to tell you if it was in English or Spanish that they spoke because it just went straight to concepts without me really paying attention to the words.

but when I’m reading I always hear the head voice which I think might be why I can’t read that fast because I ‘hear’ it at a regular speaking pace.
