If you have billions of dollars it shouldn’t be a crime to steal from you. You’ve got enough money that your security should be your own responsibility and anyone who manages to swipe from your hoard deserves applause for besting a supervillain
Over a billion and you reach the social connotations that dragons have, as in stealing from you is considered a Challenge rather than a Crime
ppl on facebook sarcastically saying “well why don’t we do 40 year background checks on EVERYONE in congress?? there’d be nobody left!1!!”
…..that’s a great idea, let’s do that!!
Yeah, like, if we got rid of all the pedophiles and rapists and racists and replaced them with good people, how does anyone have a problem with it?
I legit had someone unfriend me after they shared that post and I was like yeah, let’s do that!
Seriously though. If you did a forty year background check on me, you’d find lots of immaturity and stupidity, but you wouldn’t find any sexual assaults or attempted rapes because I’m a decent fucking human being.
Like, this is… not a hot take? This is seriously just keeping abusers out of positions of power. How does anyone have a problem with that??!?
holy shit, spread this like wildfire guys before November
one of the biggest and most devious tools being used against voters now is that voting locations for lower income neighborhoods and neighborhoods that are primarily black or hispanic are suddenly closed down, in the middle of nowhere, or only open for 4 hours a day
do whatever you can to help negate that being a barrier
Everyone of you in the US needs to check you’re still registered this weekend and register if you aren’t. And you need to go out and vote. And before any of you even get the thought of ‘it doesn’t even matter’ in your head FUCK THAT.
FUCKING TEXAS has a chance of going blue this election. Let’s make that happen. Get out there and vote and make sure this weekend you can.
“To many Christians their immense privilege seems invisible. They don’t understand how much of our society panders to their unspoken power. The churches on every corner, the holidays and celebrations structured around Christian dates, the pandering of politicians, the ceremonial deism that acts as a placeholder for state-sponsored religion. Even our vernacular is colored by Christianity: “God bless you,” “we’ll pray for you,” “I’m in heaven,” or even “go to hell.” Yet despite this, many Christians, particularly conservative Christians, have a major investment in seeing themselves as part of a persecuted minority. This was reinforced for me in the comments section of a recent post at the journalism commentary site Get Religion. There, I was informed that Michele Bachmann was part of a religious minority, and that due to mainstream media criticism “one has to speculate that perhaps Christians are a small minority in the United States.”
Where does this inaccurate perspective come from? How can a group see itself as a minority when it holds so much power?”
you ever remember that there’s going to be two trans male actors playing two of peter parker’s classmates in spider-man: far from home and get a lil emotional
