Because telling kids that they can love whoever they want is TOO TERRIFYING AND CONFUSING. But showing them murder, execution, death, frightening images, war, and bullying is just fine.

also let’s not forget to mention the fact that STRAIGHT ROMANCE is accepted in “innocent” movies. So good job telling kids who like other kids of the same sex that their orientation is inherently kink and deviant and not innocent.
