I’m back from seeing the Hobbit and…

saingirl101:

..I honestly did not like it. Now I am going to explain why under the cut and let me say this if you did enjoy the movie then don’t read this because honestly I get that some people really liked the movie and I can understand why. I mean heck I went with my best friend and she absolutely loved it and it was hard to keep my opinion to myself. That being said I did think there were some good parts but honestly overall I wasn’t impressed.

man I agree. It didn’t feel like Bilbo’s movie at all and with so many characters and the story so split up it didn’t let you connect to any of the characters. :/

I actually enjoyed the fight scenes but this may have been because I was studying them from a standpoint of wondering how an action scene like that would translate to text(since I’ve been trying to learn how to write evocative fight scenes recently) but they definitely dragged on.
and the cinematography in the barrel POV scenes looked like a commercial for a water park.

and the love triangle. UGH.

I feel like the movie was visually stunning(not counting the barrel POV) and for the most part it was “fun” to watch but it definitely fell short in MANY areas.

I love Tolkien and I love the LotR trilogy but I did not love this movie adaptation :/
