Noiz and Aoba crawling under the covers after a long day, worn and weary and wanting nothing more than to sleep

Aoba saying goodnight as his head hits the pillow.

Noiz mumbling something back as he reaches over to pull the chain on the bedside table lamp.

Aoba is pretty sure he heard that wrong.

He asks Noiz to repeat himself.

Noiz says it again, still under his breath.

One more time, Aoba asks. He cannot be hearing what he thinks he’s hearing

“I said sweet memes.”

Noiz sleeps on the couch that night.
