ok so there was this tumblr artist named @rcdart who made some semi-popular art of Marvel and Bravest Warriors and other things, and a key feature to their art would be their… exaggeration… of proportions.
Now that prob sounds all well and good, everybody exaggerates features that’s just how cartoons work, but… They drew certain trans-coded characters certain ways, ways one could describe as, oh, I don’t know,
So needless to say, they got one helluva social media assblasting and boinked outta the public eye for what we all thought was forever. Apparently not tho cause they just moved to Twitter under rorykcd where they haven’t learned a damn thing apparently!
-and just as i was trying to find the link to this tweet i find it deleted, so if this keeps going as fast as it is the twitter acc. itself might go too. Not that it matters cause I already capped some of the gold comments lmao
All in all, I think cenobites put it best when they say:
so what your telling me is that a bunch of people decided to gang up on a nonbinary artist because they didnt like their art style and decided it was transphobic?
theres a difference between sexualization and fetishization. their art style clearly isnt trying to convey anatomical accuracy for trans OR cis people. you dont have to like their art style. you can think that its ugly if you want. but tumblr needs to stop attacking queer fan artists and then hiding behind the guise of “social justice”. A trans person drawing another trans person in a sexual manner isnt “fetishization”. and ive already seen the accusations go from “they sexualize trans people” to “they’re transphobic” when they are trans?????
it took me one minute of checking their blog to see that literally the last post on the page is them talking about how they have listened to ppls complaints about their art style but dont know how to proceed bc a lot of trans people have also let them know that they really LIKE the way they draw. You dont speak for the whole fucking community. if you dont like their art you can block them but dont go around dragging their name through the mud and fucking FOLLOWING THEM TO THEIR TWITTER to go harass them
stop chasing artists off tumblr bc you’re fucking jealous or think they dont deserve to be as popular as they are. its disgusting and i keep seeing it happen over and over and then people just jump on board without even taking to time to consider if the criticism they’re hearing about the person is valid.
