Have you ever seen a violinist going APESHIT?!

GO OFFF
Ok so I’ve been playing for 18 years and i’m a string teacher. Can i just say how IMPORTANT it is for young kids to see a BLACK, MALE-PRESENTING PERSON playing, nae, SHREDDING on a violin? I’ve know maybe 5 black people who played stringed instruments throughout my schooling and teaching (predumably because i’m an upper middle class white woman). In districts where the population is predominantly black, funding is always low, so the instruments are crappy. Kids quit, or the program is dismantled. I’ve seen very few professional string players who are black.
Obviously there are black string players. We just don’t see them because they “don’t look like” string players.
This person is the real deal. They were clearly trained, and seems to have some fiddle training as well. How cool is that?

I’m not gonna say I was looking for something else entirely because I was in fact trying to find a gif of Chris Evans when I came across this, but this is not what I was looking for. And yet it is possibly the best thing I’ve ever found.
What the hell even is Chris Evans. What the hell.
Pumpkin Spice Evans

A picture of Freddie Oversteegen, a Dutch girl who was the unsuspecting killer of dozens of Nazis. Along with her friend Hannie and her sister Truus, the girls worked with a team from the Dutch Resistance to lure men into the woods for a promised kiss. Once they reached a remote location, the men got a bullet to the head instead.
Freddie passed away today on the 5th of September 2018, one day before her 93rd birthday.

I really don’t think people who aren’t Autistic or who don’t struggle with sensory issues understand that when it comes to certain stimuli, those things provoke actual feelings of pain, nausea, disgust, discomfort, etc for people that are Autistic/have sensory processing disorder.
Take “picky eating.” I was labelled a “picky eater” even as a little toddler. I couldn’t eat sauce, tomatoes, or have my food touching other foods. People said stuff like “She’ll grow out of it” or “She’ll eat it if she’s actually hungry” or “Tastebuds change; she’ll like it when she’s older!“
But the fact was, if it was a food I couldn’t eat, I literally couldn’t eat it. I’d try to eat lasagna and start crying, and gagging, and I’d have to spit it out. Guess what? I didn’t “eat when I was hungry” if it was one of those foods, I just didn’t eat. This was especially an issue when I started going to school and daycare (I eventually got a note from my doctors that detailed my Autism diagnosis and sensory problems, so that the local kids center would provide me with alternative meals. They treated it the same way they did with kids with allergies, basically.)
Also, I didn’t “grow out of it.” I still cannot eat tomatos, sauces, and most mixed food dishes. Because I just can’t even make my mouth chew and swallow without gagging and spitting the food out. Just a couple months ago I went to grab some chicken wraps from the local taco place, and I asked specifically that they hold the sauce. But they didn’t, so when I took a bite I got a mouthful of pain and chucked it right into my napkin (gross, I know. I’m making a point here though.)
So when Autistic people, or anyone with a sensory processing related disorder, tells you that they cannot handle something-whether that means being touched, wearing certain clothes, being around noise, or eating certain foods-remember what I just said. That’s how it feels, when people willfully ignore our reminders and warnings about our stimuli and triggers. That’s what you’re doing when you touch someone when they tell you it hurts them, or make them wear that suit or outfit, or put sauce on their food when they politely ask you not to. Granted, overload is different and presents differently in everyone, but bottom line-you’re choosing to disrespect someone’s boundaries, and their medical issues, and you are hurting them when you force certain stimuli on them after they’ve asked you to stop. Just respect people, and don’t shame people for not being able to handle or do the same stuff other people can.

I am not kidding, I am not exaggerating: this makes him a eugenicist. They are literally trying to put a eugenicist on the Supreme Court right now. Write your senators now.

“Seizing Opportunity”
The transport rumbled as it neared the surface of the planet, landing gear shifting into place and sending little vibrations through the floor beneath Rhys’ feet. The omega hummed, fiddling with the seatbelt strapped atop his belly as he watched the twinkling city come into view below.
At least from afar, it looked impressive. Towering skyscrapers, sprawling development cut in a neat hexagon in the middle of a vast sea. Hyperion banners visible even from hundreds of meters up. Jack hadn’t struck out just yet.
The familiar sound of the landing thrusters hissed from outside the transport’s hull as they cut down to a small bridge connecting the city to the landmass, and here Rhys pulled away from watching the outside world to sit back in his seat. Landing, like takeoff, usually made him queasy, and he’d rather not throw up all over his clothes and earn undeserved teasing from his husband.
This fic is literally just mindless banter and fluff with Jack taking his expectant omega Rhys all around Opportunity, thats literally it. I probably could’ve made it better but I was also just tired of having it in my WIP pile so….just take it for the meandering noncanon mess that it is lmao.

my favorite thing about “fbi/nsa agent monitoring my computer” things is it implies that there is at least one agent for every single person on earth with a computer
not really.
like i know this is a shitpost but just in case folks aren’t aware: the fbi and nsa and whatev gov agencies do monitor all internet traffic. The idea tho is to catalogue and scan for things like keywords and other data analysis and use that info to flag accounts/ip addresses/identities. Basically, building massive databases of information on all people just in case you become a threat to the state.
Think of it like an automatic file being built on every single person in real time. Should you do anything to warrant state suppression, your file may be flagged for further investigation which may lead to being actively tracked or suppressed (as evidenced in the past with COINTELPRO)
so no, there isn’t an agent per person. But you bet your ass there is a profile of you that connects all your electronic activity (including GPS data/metadata and tracking via MAC addresses, user agents and/or unique hardware identifiers) to intelligence agencies.
of course, much of this is intended to specifically instill fear, uncertainty, and doubt as part of a larger culture of fear.
but I figure it is better to know what’s going on so you can understand what’s happening.
so anyway, yeah, shit’s real yo.
hhh this is uh… kinda terrifying.
Hey remember when this was exposed and not a single person in the US government went to jail or even lost their job over it
Remember 10 years ago when you were considered an insane and paranoid conspiracy theorist if you spoke about anything related to mass surveillance
Now everyone has just accepted it like it’s the new normal without a second thought
