oh no……………

THIS IS NOT A DOG IT IS A FURRY!

i’ve seen this picture a lot lately, and usually with really negative remarks, so i wanted to clarify some things.

this is a picture from a charity fundraiser for a children’s hospital that furries had raised $3,000 dollars for.. and in 2013 numerous furry conventions raised $189,820 for charities like Therapy Pets, NARF (a native american rights fund), and many wildlife preserve funds and shelters.

so yeah this person is dressed in an anthropomorphic suit and they’re being pet by a little kid, but there’s nothing inherent sexually about this (which is what im assuming most people have concerns about). cosplayers know that people and kids approach you for pictures all the time, and honestly this isn’t that different. this is just a kid who thought they were seeing a giant stuffed animal walking around and probably got excited. chill out you guys its not like the furry is getting ready to whip out a massive animal dong and slap people with it.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING. FURRIES ARE THE BEST PEOPLE EVER AND GET NO CREDIT FOR IT OMG

Also like to point out that just this week the Texas Furry Fiesta convention 2015 raised $16,000 for the Centre for Animal Research and Education.

A bunch of people in animal costumes raised all that money to help care for big cats raised in captivity, many of whom had been abandoned, abused and illegally bred. Thanks to the furries those animals can continue to live peacefully with medical care, food and companionship for the rest of their natural lives.

I just felt it was an interesting piece of recent news to share on the subject 🙂

Furries are a-ok in my book.  Always have been.  Sure there are some psychos and creeps but if I judged every fandom by the psychos I’ve met in them I’d hate EVERYTHING.  Generally speaking all the furries I’ve ever encountered at cons or in the real world in general have been moderate, fun and HUGELY kind.

So, yeah. don’t be so quick to paint all furries with the same brush.

The biggest furry convention (anthrocon) raised $30,000 for the national aviary last year. Charity seems to be something furries are good at. But of course we don’t hear about that because People In Costumes Weird

i for one support our fuzzy saviors

It…took me way longer than it should’ve to realize that wasn’t a real dog

Greg Palast Says He Hasn’t Seen Voter Suppression Like This In 18 Years

crooksandliars:

This morning on AM Joy, Joy Reid asked Greg Palast if the voter suppression tactics were worse this year.

“As a journalist covering this, is it more aggressive this year, is it more frantic, the attempts to basically engineer an electorate with as few black and brown Asian-American and Native American people in it as possible?” she said.

“I have never seen anything like it in 18 years. You’re referring back to when Bush won the presidency by 300 votes.” Palast said.

“His (Florida) secretary of state Katherine Harris removed 58,000 black people from the voter rolls saying they were felons, their only crime, every single one was innocent, the only crime was voting while black. I thought that was bad. It’s gone wild.

“Yesterday, I sued Brian Kemp in a federal court. The reason is, I looked at the data, and on threat of a federal suit, he gave me his voter files. They cancelled 550,000 voter registrations in Georgia. That’s Brian Kemp, he’s running for governor. He cancels half a million people off the voter rolls. and the reason is, they left the state, a few died, 19,000. But I had computer experts, the best people in the nation, who check people’s addresses. You know, the guys hunting you down to make your pay your bills or send you catalogs.

“They went through name by name. Kemp didn’t realize i was going to do this. They went through name by name, 340,134 Georgians did not move from their registration addresses. They got removed. They’ve been given no notice, Joy, no notice that they’ve been removed.”

Seeing some people on Tumblr still bitching about how it’s too late for voting and the only thing that will fix things is revolution.

How about you fucking vote anyway? It’s not going to seriously cut into your “sitting on the couch waiting for a revolution to start” time.

There’s no “none of the above” option here. You want a revolution, fine, but there’s still little shit to do in the meantime.

You can vote AND protest. They’re not exclusive. Hell, you can even protest the person you voted for when they fuck up. You’re not signing a blood oath with your ballot. But a desire for an ideologically pure candidate or nothing only serves the status quo right now.

#voting for someone and then immediately protesting the person you voted for is the only moral decision actually

What a wonderful initiative! Spread the word.

holy shit, spread this like wildfire guys before November

one of the biggest and most devious tools being used against voters now is that voting locations for lower income neighborhoods and neighborhoods that are primarily black or hispanic are suddenly closed down, in the middle of nowhere, or only open for 4 hours a day

do whatever you can to help negate that being a barrier

Happy New Year! guess what

You can’t keep getting away with this

Happy valentines day I fucked a werewolf

Happy pride month! Celebrate by fucking a werewolf

Hope everyone had a good Fourth of July! I continue to find werewolves sexually enticing

And one long, beautiful year later, I stand before you looking back on 12 months of lycanthropic lovemaking and fuzzy feral fornication, looking forward to a new year with my hairy howling honey, content in the knowledge I have lived each lunar cycle to its fanged fullest.

Truly let it be known: I grabbed life by its furry, wagging tail—and life growled back.

happy anniversary to the worst post on this site
