That’s not an assumption I’d normally make, particularly since the entire point of the episode is that while crushing on adults is normal, those crushes should stay one sided and responsible adults won’t reciprocate. But I’ve seen antis trash on things making points simply for acknowledging shit before.

It’s unsurprising to me that “minors getting crushes on adults have been BRAINWASHED and are encouraging maps and it’s unhealthy!” is a position that people are taking now, but it does make me worried as hell. mostly for the teens being told that having crushes on adults means that they actually want those relationships and support minor/adult relationships
I remember that there was an As Told By Ginger episode where Ginger had a new teacher who was young and hot and she had a crush on him. Ginger was encouraged by her friend Dodie to pursue this teacher. Which ended badly. At the end of the episode the teacher talks to Ginger- I forget what he said exactly but he let her down gently, telling her that he doesn’t reciprocate, can’t reciprocate, is uncomfortable, and then he left. That was a good episode but antis would probably hate it (1/2)
