i feel attacked.

Okay but once this was people pretending to be my health insurance leaving me messages with a number a number I was supposed to give them before answering a survey or something, and googling the number turned up the scam before I did irreparable damage. It’s okay to make people leave a message. It’s okay to double check who’s called you. And if they appear to be a business, it’s better to call their listed online number than the one that called you just to be sure it isn’t a trick. And when in doubt, remember: companies that have your information won’t ask for your information, and they will mail anything important.

With telemarketers flooding landlines and cell phones alike you need to protect yourself.

In this day and age never answer unknown numbers. Let them leave a voicemail or text message instead. Too many fucking elaborate scams.

Being a “fucking adult” means I don’t have to answer the fucking phone if I don’t want to, whether I know who the person on the other end of the line is or not.
