Bullying in schools by and large works to enforce cultural norms, and this is why most teachers don’t do anything about it. Most teachers agree that an effeminate boy should be beat up, or that a child who speaks with an accent should be mocked. Children’s schooling is one of the most comprehensive ways we indoctrinate them into our societal mores, and this is enabled by teachers who will always enforce cultural norms at the cost of their students’ safety and individuality.
