a couple months ago while I was camping I had a dream that I was trying to collect some sort of boon/quest-item sort of thing from a folk creature living in a hay barn. inside the barn he sat all day in one place, milking his cows. each cow would wait its turn in line to be milked, and sometimes instead of milk, valuable items would come out.

anyway. this creature had not moved in so long that his legs had grown very small. he couldn’t get up to eat or drink anymore, so all day long while he milked his cows, he drank milk directly from one of his cow’s udders, and he’d used the same teat for such a time that it had stretched so long that the cow could walk around the hay barn while he kept drinking its milk.

I woke up thinking “wow……that literally sounds like a character in an irish faerie tale, I need to tell my friends.”

you can IMAGINE how explaining the LONG TEAT went over.

they did NOT value the CLEAR folktale fodder I’d so graciously provided.

everybody only cared about The Long Teat. Which, to be fair, I should have seen coming.

people tagging this with “folklore” are the reason I blog tbh
