@ahmerst yeah lol. well i wasn’t trying to argue that body dysphoria isnt something that ppl experience, bc it objectively is, but rather that i dont think it WOULD exist if society hadn’t drilled it into our heads since the minute we were born that that body part is associated with a certain gender. otherwise, it would just be another fat deposit.
obviously, we DO live in a world that genders our appearances and voices and everything else, but the notion that this dysphoria is inherent and caused by our BODIES and not the way other people (and even ourselves! we were socialized this way too) perceive those bodies
i used to hate my body. just like i used to hate skirts and girly things bc it felt like such an act. it wasnt until i learned that being NB was an option and rules are fake that i was able to start accepting fem things and my body and feel comfortable in my own skin
