by the way, did you know the thing where you hear weird voices saying spooky bullshit as you’re falling asleep is actually normal and happens to lots of people, because i sure didn’t for most of my life! hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations are just one of those funky sleepy time brain glitches, like falling dreams or sleep paralysis.
i usually hear snippets of women telling each other to bring or do technical things (sara bring me the— satellites are ten four and descending— quota, not this month if i want to— where’s my fucking screwdriver?), and men making grand and ominous boasts (the world is cold and yet i still collaborate— come to the door, come to the open door— fine and fancy we three kings are— an eternal bath of fire and blood), but never children.
