So here’s a little run through I did of my miraculous moves inspired Reflekta/Juleka (Aka the awesome break dance au started by @starrycove )
Something I noticed is that with most of the inspirations for the au they went full force for the alter egos with the exception of all the juleka ones. I decided that since the rest of the au focused on the later egos I wanted to do breakdance reflekta. Now of course since there wasn’t a drawing or art this was inspired by I had to go by my imagination. For the wig i wanted to base it off of reflekta’s hairstyle but still have it be functional for the au and for poses. I decided I wanted to go with a skort over say pants to try and retain some of her costume elements. I also decided to use body paint to mimic some of her gown’s and symbol elements (the eye looking pattern and what not).
I realize the stylized body paint designs are very rough but since this was just a run through to get an estimate on how long it’d take to get in cosplay Its not the end of the world. I haven’t decided as of yet for the face paint if I want to just do the messy mask stylization or also add in the white face paint along with it.
I’d also like to add this is the first time i’ve ever done a costume which bares my middrift area. For a lot of reasons I get very uncomfortable about my body and weight. But I wanted to try and love my body and be confident about this shoot. I also have gloves which i will be dying this weekend and painting my nails so yeah…please don’t be too harsh.
