i’ve been following anita sarkeesian since her tropes vs. women kickstarter days and i remember thinking it was SO GREAT that she was able to have her project funded (if only because it made manchildren cry out in impotent rage). i was excited to see what she’d do with all the extra funding she received, especially since she promised to churn out videos more frequently than before.
spoiler alert: she didn’t keep that promise. in fact, if i’m not mistaken part 1 of her tropes vs. women series didn’t pop up until some months after her kickstarter ended (actually, almost an entire year went by) and to be perfectly honest her newer videos don’t show a marked improvement in quality, but thaaat’s just my opinion. i’m also not a fan of the fact that she’s stolen content from other gamers – and one artist, i think – for her videos. i’m not even going to discuss how weak some of her arguments are. there’s plenty more worth noting (apparently there’s a video floating around of her saying that she isn’t a real gamer, but i haven’t done enough research to pass this off as a fact), but yeah.
i guess i don’t hate her outright, i just think she’s an awful, terrible poster child.
(though tbh i almost want to say i’m on her side because i don’t want people to think that i’m siding with theamazingatheist *gags*)

ive only seen a few of her videos and didn’t really know anything about her besides that so i had no idea. that pretty disappointing….
