i was thinking about oviparous trolls and then i started thinking about what if before the mother grub the eggs would grow and hatch inside of the troll!!! and then they would eat their way out of the abdominal cavity like the horrible bug aliens they are ❤ ❤ ❤

i know that in more than one species of insect the young eat their way out of the host body they inhabited (i know at least one of these species is parasitic but i am tempted to believe there are species where they do this to the mother as well. i know that a species of fish like this exists)

grubs appear to be hatched with a mouth full of teeth so i think this would lend itself well to this possible headcanon.
