Nine passengers travel on first commercial passenger flight from Key West to Cuba in more than 50 years.I don’t know how this escaped me, but I was shocked when I saw that the airport in Tampa plans to start flights to Havana.
Does this mean the Cuban embargo is on its way out? I don’t know, but just the fact that people in Florida will be able to visit their families back in Cuba is pretty exciting!
fun fact! People with family still living in Cuba can fly to Cuba from Florida! (i think every three years??)
Before my brothers got their visas and moved to the US my dad would visit pretty often. My American brother and I even went a few times!
