For some reason, I tend to flip my shit in an epic manner when someone brings up the “because aliens,” malarkey. Mostly because it is racist, but also because it actually makes no logical sense (unless you are a moonbat). I have such a strong loathing for the “because aliens” new age bullshit that I avoided the StarGate franchise for years, and I was only eventually lured in by the SG:Atlantis spinoff series.
About the only thing that pisses me off more than “because aliens” is “because Atlanteans.”
Or “because Atlanteans. Who were actually aliens. Because reasons.”
