did anyone’s parents actually irl read them bedtime stories or is that one of those things that only happens in…

I know my mom would read books for my older brother(by one year) but I don’t remember her ever doing this for me. :0 I don’t know if its just because my memory is bad or because she didnt read to me though.

I DO remember that my dad would tell us stories about his childhood in Cuba. He mostly grew up in “el campo”(the countryside) so a lot of the stories sounded really exciting to me. He had one story about when he was exploring in the forest and there’s this plant with this fruit that bursts open and sounds like a gunshot so he thought he was getting shot at.
I also really liked the story about when he was little he caught a bullfrog in the creek by his house and his mom cooked it and they ate bullfrog legs which according to him were really good. When I went to Cuba to visit my brothers he took me some of the towns he had lived in when he was small and I got to see the creek!(it was less impressive then what I had imagined)
